A Mango Shaped Space is a middle-school age book about Mia, who “hears color” — in other words, she has a condition called synesthesia, where senses can be mixed up. The design of this cover was intended to capture what sounds might look like on a two-dimensional platform, while incorporating imagery from the book, which focuses heavily on Mia’s relationship with her cat, Mango.
