Backstory
Growing up as a girl who both loved sports and beautiful things, I was always quick to notice the lack of innovation when it came to sports visuals. It was always the same boring colors, the same sideline photographs of athletes, the same blocky type.
This card deck posed an exciting opportunity — make sports visuals that are as dynamic and visually exciting as watching your favorite player slam dunk against their rival team. In coming up with this design, I thought a lot about what it feels like to be in the stands as a sports fan: trying to keep up with the players speeding through the air, watching the sweat drip off their noses, seeing every fan leap to their feet after a huge play.
